The Perfect Spring Smoothie
For radiant skin and a healthy gut
The warmer weather is finally here (sort of), and I don't know about you, but this welcomed change of season motivates me to dust off my blender and revive my morning smoothie routine.
I love prescribing smoothies as a medicinal food because it is an easy and delicious way to get greens, and other nutrient-dense foods into our bodies.
This particular smoothie recipe features collagen protein, a major component of our tissues such as skin and muscle. Consuming collagen as a medicinal food helps to improve skin health, heal a leaky gut lining, and repair damaged tendon, ligaments, and joints.
There are different types of collagen supplements available with wide ranging discrepancies in quality. I often look for a grass-fed organic bovine source, but it's best to have a chat with me in order to find the best collagen supplement for you.
