Meet
Dr. Laura Brass

I am passionate about helping people, always have been.

Why I’m a functional medicine & naturopathic physician

I am passionate about helping people, always have been.

This drive stems from my own struggles with health, and my commitment to continually work on myself to live the happiest and healthiest life I can.

I know others are going through similar life and health hurdles and I wake up every morning with the desire to inspire, educate, and help them get on the right path.

What’s special about working with me

I am a very personable health care professional and provide a space where you will feel truly heard and cared for.  I am highly skilled at untangling and making sense of even the most complicated health puzzle and am an active participant in solving your health problems.

I always go above and beyond for my patients to ensure they get better.

My professional experience and education

I am a licensed naturopathic doctor trained at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine. I also hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Anatomy & Cell Biology from McGill University.

I am also a certified functional medicine practitioner from the prestigious Institute of Functional Medicine.

I have been in practice for 13 years.

My career experience includes 8 years of practice at MD Direct, an executive medical centre in downtown Toronto as well as 4 years of practice in Sydney, Australia working with the former president of the Australian Medical Association, Professor Kerryn Phelps at the Sydney Integrative Medical Clinic.

Throughout my years of practice, I have always worked alongside and in co-ordination with medical doctors and my natural medical beliefs are strongly rooted in science. I use evidence-based natural therapies to treat my patients, and will collaborate with other members of your health care team to ensure you are receiving the best possible care available.

In addition to my practice, I am a seasoned public speaker and an experienced writer. I have published an evidence-based chapter for an integrative medical textbook and am frequently called upon by print journalists and TV producers for expert opinions and panels on lifestyle and medical issues.

When I’m not with patients

I’m at home with my kids and dog, baking paleo banana bread and cooking nutritious family meals.  I am a yoga enthusiast, avid home cook, and a former ski instructor. I also love a good book (or TV show) with a big mug of herbal tea.

I believe in compassionate care

Real healing occurs when you feel truly heard and understood
